Monday 6th February 2012.

A new, second weekly parkour class in Bridgwater!

On Monday 20th February, 'Bridgwater YMCA' and 'West Coast Parkour' launch a second weekly parkour class. Every Monday for 6weeks (possibly more!), 7.15-8.45pm (arrive 15mins early if you can). The class will definitely run for 6 weeks, BUT NOTHING IS SET IN STONE AFTER THIS! It is all dependent on whether the class succeeds within this period. Jacob has had hand made equipment built specifically for this class, including 4 vaulting boxes of different sizes! If the class succeeds, it will stay, as well as receiving a large grant for much more equipment, including beams and a scaffold structure to be placed just outside of the venue. First class that you attend is FREE, followed by a reasonable and competitive fee of £4 per class. PLEASE try your best to attend 5/6 or 6/6 of the classes. These classes have already received funding and the company will fund future classes should you, the participants show your dedication. See you there soon!

Youth Parkour

Monday 21st February – Friday 25th February 2011.

Youth Parkour Week.

Training indoors helps you learn and develop parkour techniques, but taking your skills outdoors is another ‘ball game’. Some participants become far more safety conscience therefore restricting their movement and with fixed settings their creativity can also be minimised. Should you be forced to use your parkour skills, e.g. in a chase, to escape, to survive or to protect another, the enviornment that the vast majority of these situations will occur in, will be outside. Therefore, the week is designed to increase your confidence in a ‘real’ enviornment and to learn, develop and combine techniques. Every class is taught outdoors in a safe, controlled, helpful, energetic and friendly atmosphere. The week will focus on parkour attributes such as vaulting, balancing, cardio fitness fitness levels, flow, buiding strength and flexibility levels and creativity. Each technique can be made more challenging just as they can be made easier, catering for all standards in each and every class. Every class is taught in the town of Bridgwater (Somerset) training for two and a half hours a day. The week will occur what ever the weather, therefore focusing on mental training, just as much as physical. Any youth aged 12-17 that is a regular student of the indoor Academy since November 1st 2010 or before may participate and numbers are strictly limilited to eight, so if interested, prompt payment is highly advised to avoid dissapointment. For more detailed information on the week, pricing information, necessities including forms and how to book, contact Jacob at generalenquiries@westcoastparkour.co.uk I look forward to coaching many of you outdoors, where you will develop how you interact with Bridgwater’s urban enviornment.
